For the Spring/Summer 2025 season

The Double-breasted jacket

Two is better than one

THIS BUTTON DESIGN CHARACTERISES THE CLASSIC DOUBLE-BREASTED DESIGN

A fact not to be overlooked: Double-breasted suits differ not only in the number of buttons, but also in the cut and positioning of the affixed buttons. The double-breasted style can often be recognised by the ‘6 on 2’ design. Six buttons appear in double rows, with the middle outer button closed. Alternatively, the double-breasted style comes in the ‘6 on 1’ design, whereby the lower outer button is closed. How do the designs differ? The details make all the difference, as the lower outer button fastening visually elongates the male silhouette.

What Distinguishes a double-breasted from a single-breasted suit?

The double-breasted jacket differs from the single-breasted jacket beyond the number of buttons. The double rows of buttons, parallel to each other, means the double-breasted design has additional fabric and therefore a wider fabric overlap. The lapel also differs between the respective suit styles. The single-breasted jacket traditionally has a notch lapel, while the double-breasted jacket exudes additional elegance thanks to the peak lapel.

The comfortable double-breasted jacket

Although we are reluctant to admit it, a long summer will always be followed eventually by autumn. The ideal time to get in the mood for the new fashion season. We then switch from shirts to pullovers and roll-neck jumpers, which perfectly complement the double-breasted jacket and add a comfortable touch to the classic look. The classic double-breasted design

Did you know? Classics never go out of style. This also applies to the suit, which is no longer only worn on festive occasions or in the office, but fits subtly and effortlessly into casual wear. Even the more elegant double-breasted jacket can be worn in a classic style - combined with a white shirt, tie or scarf - for any occasion. For a classic look, elegant hues of anthracite or navy blue are best - complemented by a pair of loafers.

Mix and Match

Who said that a jacket and suit trousers have to be the same colour? You are welcome to wear a double-breasted jacket, a matching shirt, and trousers in different colours. But which combination works best? Ideally, both the jacket and trousers should be kept in a monochrome colour - the choice of shoes and shirt can be more daring.

Re-Think Menswear

Using the motto ‘Re-Think Menswear’, the old styles are challenged and windsor men are encouraged to incorporate more courage and individuality into their wardrobe. The matching elements come in the form of strong individual pieces like superb double-breasted jackets, big coats or even shackets.
